Would like to see some volunteers to present on any of the following:

- Jobs
- Advanced Functions
- Profiles

Please suggest any other topics you may be interested in.

Make sure you check out Jaykul's post about Great Book Discounts!

Great Book Discounts This Week!

Did you know that the O'Reilly store sells books by other publishers?  They sell MS Press, No Starch Press, Pragmatic Bookshelf, and more. Why do I mention this? Because they have a discount for our user group members:  just use the code DSUG when you're checking out to get 40% off of any book, and 50% off eBooks (which they make available in ePub, PDF, and MOBI formats).

Ideas for future COPUG meetings

Please post your ideas for future COPUG meetings.  Here are some off the top of my head:

  • Managing Exchange via powershell
  • Powershell basics review: profiles, functions, setting up your environment, ISE, how to deploy on 2003/XP/Vista, using get-member, using WMI, web resources, etc.
  • Advanced functions
  • Advanced Profiles
  • Script club:  Bring in your actual scripts for demos
  • How to educate your peers on powershell

Agenda:

March Central Ohio PowerShell Users Group - Cancelled

The COPUG Meeting scheduled for this month has been cancelled (going to NCAA Regionals - St. Louis, GO BUCKS!). The next meeting will be Thursday, April 29th at 6:30. We will have a couple license keys for PowerGadgets to give away and I will demonstrate the graphic capabilities of this cool PowerShell snapin.

See you there!

Summary of February Central Ohio PowerShell Users Group

At the February COPUG meeting we were treated to some PowerShell/Active Directory insights from Bob Bobel (Quest). Bob had an insider’s perspective the evolution of the Quest Active Directory cmdlets. Bob also demonstrated some workflow examples. Those who attended also received an autographed copy of Jeffery Hicks "Managing Active Directory With Windows PowerShell". Check out Jeffery's blog at http://jdhitsolutions.com/blog/.

More Features on PowerShellGroup.org

I just wanted to let you all know ... if you have a user group or script club hosted here on PowerShellGroup.org, you can create forum threads (like this one) for discussion!

We can also set up private group email discussion/announcement lists for you, with an address @PowerShellGroup.org (eg: Rochester@PowerShellGroup.org or Tampa@PowerShellGroup.org, etc.)

We also allow attachments on posts, but there's unfortunately a size limit imposed by our PHP server, so if you need to upload larger files, we can set up your administrator with an FTP account so you can upload larger files like user group presentations, recordings, etc.
